How can we protect our children from a world that is increasingly hostile to Christian faith and values while equipping them to think critically? It's not an easy balance. The reality is that our children are often not equipped enough to interact and think biblically when they return to public school or higher education. In this workshop, we will reflect on the issues and propose tools to raise children who love God while helping them to interact with the major cultural issues of our time during their homeschooling journeys.

Research Scientist in the Department of Administration and Foundations of Education in the Faculty of
Educational Sciences from the Université de Montréal. In her research, she is interested in
exceptional courses in education, such as home-based learning (since 2002), alternative schools,

National Roundtable on Homeschooling, within the Ministry of
Minister of Education, and co-founder and trustee of the International Center for Home
Education Research. Holder of a Quebec Teaching Certificate, she previously held
taught in primary and secondary schools as a specialist in dance and music.
She also spent ten years learning as a homeschooler with her two children
now adults.

This conference presents the evolution of family learning in Quebec based on two studies we conducted among Quebec parent-educators: one in 2003 and the other in 2021.

The objective of these studies was to draw a portrait of family learning in Quebec, by answering the following research questions:

Who are these families? Why did they choose to learn with their families? How do they live their experience? And in 2021, the question was added: How is departmental monitoring and support going? I will present the results of the most recent study by comparing them with previous results, in order to reflect together on this evolution.
