December 2022 Newsletter

A word from the president

Greetings to all of you in this month of December. We are already at the end of a year that may have been too busy for many of you. I encourage you to focus your next few weeks on what we know, as servants of God, should be essential in our lives. As we approach the celebration of Jesus’ birth, let us remember that He was proclaimed from the beginning in Genesis 3:15. This wonderful plan of God’s redemption should give us reassurance, hope, and peace because we know that his promises are always fulfilled. This hope is the greatest gift we can have.

We are excited to announce that we are currently working with the Association Création et Science (ACS) and Berean Builders on a translation project for educational science materials. We have been looking recently at how to put ACPEQ’s financial resources to work for our members and this opportunity has presented itself. There is a lot of good educational material available in English but the choice is much more limited in French. Translation has therefore begun for a first textbook by Dr. Wile and will be available to order online, we hope, in the next school year.  https://bereanbuilders.com/ecomm/product/science-in-the-atomic-age-set/

The ACPEQ leaders’ meeting went ahead as planned at the end of November. The support groups in the different regions of Quebec were well represented and we were able to share about our activities and the challenges we face. Naturally, much of the discussion was about the dealings with the Direction de l’enseignement à la maison (DEM). Situations vary from region to region and we will continue to strive to make the work of parents easier on the administrative side so that they can focus on the quality of education. We all have the best interests of our children at heart.

We did not have enough time for certain in-depth conversations, especially on the activities to be planned for 2023, and we will therefore continue in early 2023. The date will be determined shortly.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 2023!

Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

A Word from the Vice-President – April 2024

Peace at home in adversity – a manifestation of God’s power. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” (Matthew 5:9)  One of the immense challenges in our families is maintaining a climate of peace. Children especially need it for their creativity, confidence in their parents’ unconditional love, and their sense of security and

A Word with the President – March 2024

Thanks to Jodler for the words of encouragement in the February newsletter! May we live every moment depending on God, admiring what He does in every moment of our lives. Sometimes, as parents, we put pressure on ourselves to do things perfectly or according to the perfect image we want to project. Let’s remind ourselves

Faithful in the little things

Don’t you find that life as a parent of young children seems like an endless cycle of small tasks? Feeding the baby, changing diapers, washing laundry, cleaning, going to work, grocery shopping, putting the food away, cooking meals, doing homework with the kids, putting toys away, washing dishes, blowing noses, dealing with squabbles, preparing snacks,
