Hello parent-educators,

On behalf of the ACPEQ Committee Board, I would like to wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2024 under the Lord’s watchful eye.

My name is Stéphann Désulmé. My wife Yasmine and I have four children aged 8 to 2, two of whom are “home-schooled”. We joined the Association’s Board of Directors about 2 years ago, to support the ACPEQ’s noble mission of encouraging and equipping Quebec’s parent-educators from a Christian perspective. Each letter of the acronym ACPEQ is precious to my heart and guides our vision of education in our family.

As we head into the holiday season with its activities and anxieties, I would like to encourage you to persevere in this noble call to educate your children according to the Lord. May this Christmas be an occasion for you to remember the good news that makes all the difference in our educational project : “…unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. And dominion rests on his shoulder, and he is called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:5).

Despite the difficult times, the tiresome reporting requirements, the anxious circumstances and chaotic situations of our lives and our world, Christmas reminds us that it is in this darkness that a light shines, it is in this shadowy context of death that was born for us:

  • a wonderful Counselor to guide our homes with His wisdom;
  • a powerful God to fortify our families with His strength;
  • an eternal Father to dispel our anxieties through His benevolence;
  • a Prince of peace to keep our hearts in Him through His tenderness.

May God grant you great joy in Christ this Christmas, and may this joy be your strength to continue giving of yourself in the education of your children.

Trusting God’s plan!

How often, in our journey as parent-educators, do we get anxious when we think about our children’s future, become stressed when we think about our various obligations, and let ourselves get carried away by the storm of difficulties and constraints? It’s easy to form a very specific vision of what we want to do for

The ACPEQ graduation ceremony is an important milestone and an incentive to move on to the next stage with greater strength. The completion of high school deserves to be celebrated in style! A Word from the Vice-President – April 2024

Peace at home in adversity – a manifestation of God’s power. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.” (Matthew 5:9)  One of the immense challenges in our families is maintaining a climate of peace. Children especially need it for their creativity, confidence in their parents’ unconditional love, and their sense of security and
