A word from the president
As you may have read in the last newsletter, Patrice Boileau has asked me to take over as president of ACPEQ. I would like to thank Patrice and Sylvie for their important contribution to the leadership of ACPEQ and the organization of the conferences. Both the longevity and intensity of their involvement have been significant, especially throughout the time of substantial modifications to the regulation on home schooling in Quebec. We are very happy to have them on the Board for a while longer. Thank you for your time!
It is with great pleasure that I am now taking over as president, although I have been on the Board with my wife Sylvie since 2019. We are very happy to be working with a great team! Sylvie and I were both homeschooled when we were younger and we have been homeschooling our children since the beginning of their educational journey. We are committed to helping ACPEQ families in various ways such as organizing events for leaders and families, providing educational resources, and sharing practical tips and advice. All of this is done prayerfully for both parents and children.
Speaking of events, I would like to highlight the virtual meeting for ACPEQ leaders that will take place on November 26 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. We will be discussing current issues that affect families in some way in order to prepare a strategy for 2023. Essentially, we want to develop the best way to assist families with the means at our disposal. Contact us if you have any suggestions.
Following the last election, we have been working to establish contact with the new Minister of Education, Bernard Drainville, in order to foster an improved collaboration with the Ministry of Education in the coming years.
I leave you with this passage from 1 Timothy 2:1-4
“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (ESV)
